Memorable Events

We have had lots of memorable events this half term.

We had a visitor who came to talk to us about Chinese New Year.

We went to the shop to buy ingredients to make pancakes and then we made some.

On a windy day, we flew a kite and then made our own kites.

We had a visit from a veterinary nurse who came to tell us about her job. She showed us how to do a health check on our pets and how to bandage an injury.

We all dressed up for World Book Day.

We have been outside in the mud pit and have been digging a really big hole.

Sharing our learning, posting our letters to Santa and a fire at Forest School

Our families came this week to look at our Learning Journeys.

We walked to the post box in the village to post our letters to Santa. We had to cross the road carefully remembering to stop, look both ways and listen.

We learned about lighting a fire at Forest School. We found fuel (sticks), blew oxygen with our dragon breath onto the heat from a spark and fed the fire safely using a special glove. We then made popcorn, toasted marshmallows and drank hot chocolate.

A Bright Winter Morning in the Forest

We had a cold and bright day in the forest today. Some children made their own fire circle and bridges. Others did some  weaving or tried using the saw and a palm drill.

Rain again!

It rained again today at Forest School but we dressed up in our warm, dry clothes and went outside anyway. First, we thought about where creatures might go on a rainy day and then we pretended to be those creatures hiding from the rain. Our puppet Coco didn't want to come out of Mrs Sullivan's coat because he didn't have a waterproof coat to wear. We decided to make him a waterproof shelter and a shelter for us to keep safe and dry too. When we had made our shelter, we had a party inside drinking hot chocolate and eating our fruit.
