Keeping Safe

We have been learning to keep safe. A visitor came to talk to us and he brought his bears called Bethany and Benjamin. The bears reminded us to hold an adult's hand when crossing the road, to wear bright clothes so that drivers can see us and to keep our seatbelt on when we are in a car.

We have also been learning to keep safe when we use technology. We learned that we should ask an adult if we would like to use many technology such as tablets, laptops, computers, cameras and phones.

We listened to a story about a penguin who made some safe choices about using his tablet and the Internet. Here is the website if you would like to watch it at home:

Happy New Year

We started the new term with a day learning about Irish culture. Mrs Sullivan told us about how her Irish family celebrate Christmas. Then we pretended to go to Ireland. We looked on the Internet to find out more about it and we found photos of a beautiful place called The Cliffs of Moher. We learned that many Irish people are Christians and that there are many churches in Ireland. We saw photos of Celtic crosses that remind Christian people about Jesus. We listened to the Irish Legend about a giant called Finn.

We made Irish soda bread.

We made Celtic crosses in clay.

We imagined and drew Finn's footprint. Then, we tried to estimate how many of our footprints would fit into the giant's footprint.

We pretended to take our caravan to Ireland.
