Our First Forest School Morning

We had a lovely, bright, cold, autumn morning for our first Forest School session.
The children dressed themselves making sure that they were wearing lots of warm clothes. This was the first part in taking responsibility to look after themselves in the forest. When we got into the forest, we looked for hazards and checked to see where the boundaries were so that we could all be safe. There was lots of lovely collaborative play. Children loved playing in the ditch, looking for bugs and using a mallet to make patterns on fabric using plants.

Our First School Visit

We went to the garden centre and steam museum in Bressingham today.

First, we went to the cafe at the garden centre. We iced and decorated chocolate ducks. Then, we did some colouring and drank hot, bubbly milk from a cup and saucer.

When we got to Bressingham Steam Museum, we went to the Exhibition Hall. We looked for things that were old and new, for different shapes and compared the sizes of vehicles.

Next, we visited the Locomotive Shed and we saw some enormous engines and looked for graphemes and numbers.

We had a picnic lunch and then went on two train rides.

After that, we went on the merry-go-round.

At the end, we went to the park.

We had a fantastic day. We would like to thank everyone at British Garden Centres who looked after us so nicely and even gave us a present to take home. Thank-you too to the staff at the steam museum who made our day special. Also, we would like to say a very big thank-you to all our special adult helpers who made the day possible and went on the merry-go-round so many times so that we could be safe!
